Motherhood.

Sometimes life is just crazy. Actually all the time life is crazy. Sometimes crazy is good, and sometimes crazy is stressful. Lately I've been feeling stressed. I think the reality of parenthood has really hit me and Bryce. Everything changes when a little person enters your life. In my opinion for the better, but that doesn't mean life is easier by any means.  Bryce and I are the first of our families to have a kid and the first of our best friends to have a kid, so sometimes we feel very alone. I mean we have a each other, and I'm so thankful for our marriage and how strong we are together, however sometimes it would be nice to have people that really understand how it is to be a young parent. You don't know what its like to have a baby until you have one, and I think even when you first have one it takes time for it to really settle in. I mean, when LJ was only a couple months, he was really easy to take everywhere with us. Now that he almost 8 months, he is definit

Little bites.

So, today i'm sharing two of my favorite party desserts. Sometimes rather than baking one large dessert, it's fun to make a couple small bite-size treats to give more of a variety. Two of my favorite little treats are cake pops and mini poptarts. These two-bite treats are great for kids and parties, and the best part they are really easy to make and to alter to create many flavors!  Here are directions for making cake pops: Usually I never use boxed cake mix or frosting, because I like made from scratch cakes better, but for cake pops its much faster and easier to use the boxed kind. Cake pops are fairly simple, however require a few steps, so using boxed cake mix and pre-made frosting saves you a lot of time. I made cake pops for Easter so I used the spring cake mix and frosting:) You will also need cookie or lollipop sticks, sprinkles to decorate and Candy Melts or Candiquick. 1. First, bake a cake according to the directions on the box and let cool fully. (

Today my baby boy is 7 months old! Holy cow time flies. I feel as if every day he is learning/doing something new! I am so blessed to be able to stay home with him on a full-time basis and not miss how fast he's growing up. I decided that I would do a monthly post for my boy, to keep a record of how he's growing and all the new things he's doing. I wish I would have started this sooner, but I guess its better late than never! So, here's all the things that LJ is doing at 7 months: - He sits up all by himself - He scoots! Everyday its seems that he's going faster and farther! - He's starting to pul himself up onto things...like the rocking chair. HAHA. - He likes patty-cake, swinging, and playing with Pip - He likes to go for walks, and LOVES being outside - He loves his baths now, he just gets mad when we take him out! - He can say ba-ba, and i swear i've heard him say ma-ma :) - His favorite foods (besides milk) are pears, apples, and butternut sq

Changes for the better.

Growing up I wasn't the healthiest eater. I played sports so many nights we ate out or had cheap processed meals. Being athletic I never really realized what affect eating poorly did to my body. Plus, I always had the mindset that was "well whatever I'm eating isn't that bad", or "I'm gonna die one day anyways and it isn't because I had too much sweet n low"! But recently I've been thinking way more about my body and what I'm putting into it. I guess kind of started when I became a mom. I didn't just have to worry about myself, but now LJ and his health and his well-being. I wanted to be better in every aspect that I could be, that included my poor eating habits. I had decided that I would make homemade baby food for him, so I bought all of this organic produce and was so excited to make him fresh food! However, then I started thinking, why haven't I bought organic and fresh stuff for me and Bryce from the very beginning. When
