My first Mother's Day.

Image
I had the most perfect Mother's day. I am so blessed to have an amazing little boy, and an equally amazing husband who made my day special! We started the morning with breakfast with my mom and the rest of my family. Next I had lunch with my boys and finished the day off with dinner at Bryce's mom's house. It was a great day! Being a mom now, I realize how much of a sacrifice motherhood truly is, and what an amazing gift it is as well. I am so blessed to have had a wonderful and loving mother who sacrificed a lot for me to have a great childhood. I love you mom, and I am so thankful for you and that you are such a big part of my life as well as LJ's! I hope all of you mommas out there had a wonderful Mother's day. Motherhood is a such a challenging and rewarding gift all at the same time. I am so blessed to be momma to my little man, and more importantly blessed to me married to his amazing father! My handsome boys:) Attempting to take a family ...

So, this is a little late but I have been really busy lately! My baby is already 8 months! I can't believe it. It seems that everyday he looks older and is doing a new trick! I really love this stage that he is in. He is definitely a handful and makes me one tired momma by the end of the day, but he is SO fun! We have so much fun together. I love my little man more than I can express! Here a some things he is doing at 8 months: - He is crawling everywhere! I can't take my eyes off him for more than second. He does a army crawl type thing, but boy does he move! - He is pulling him self up on everything! Makes me super nervous and he's had a couple falls already, but   I love to see how proud he is of himself when he gets up:) - He gives big wet kisses, which are my absolute favorite! - He said mama for the first time on his 8 month bday!!! I was definitely one proud momma! - He has two bottom teeth. - He likes to stick his tongue out. - He loves to chase Pip around; P...

Motherhood.

Sometimes life is just crazy. Actually all the time life is crazy. Sometimes crazy is good, and sometimes crazy is stressful. Lately I've been feeling stressed. I think the reality of parenthood has really hit me and Bryce. Everything changes when a little person enters your life. In my opinion for the better, but that doesn't mean life is easier by any means.  Bryce and I are the first of our families to have a kid and the first of our best friends to have a kid, so sometimes we feel very alone. I mean we have a each other, and I'm so thankful for our marriage and how strong we are together, however sometimes it would be nice to have people that really understand how it is to be a young parent. You don't know what its like to have a baby until you have one, and I think even when you first have one it takes time for it to really settle in. I mean, when LJ was only a couple months, he was really easy to take everywhere with us. Now that he almost 8 months, he is definit...

Little bites.

Image
So, today i'm sharing two of my favorite party desserts. Sometimes rather than baking one large dessert, it's fun to make a couple small bite-size treats to give more of a variety. Two of my favorite little treats are cake pops and mini poptarts. These two-bite treats are great for kids and parties, and the best part they are really easy to make and to alter to create many flavors!  Here are directions for making cake pops: Usually I never use boxed cake mix or frosting, because I like made from scratch cakes better, but for cake pops its much faster and easier to use the boxed kind. Cake pops are fairly simple, however require a few steps, so using boxed cake mix and pre-made frosting saves you a lot of time. I made cake pops for Easter so I used the spring cake mix and frosting:) You will also need cookie or lollipop sticks, sprinkles to decorate and Candy Melts or Candiquick. 1. First, bake a cake according to the directions on the box and let cool fully. (...

Today my baby boy is 7 months old! Holy cow time flies. I feel as if every day he is learning/doing something new! I am so blessed to be able to stay home with him on a full-time basis and not miss how fast he's growing up. I decided that I would do a monthly post for my boy, to keep a record of how he's growing and all the new things he's doing. I wish I would have started this sooner, but I guess its better late than never! So, here's all the things that LJ is doing at 7 months: - He sits up all by himself - He scoots! Everyday its seems that he's going faster and farther! - He's starting to pul himself up onto things...like the rocking chair. HAHA. - He likes patty-cake, swinging, and playing with Pip - He likes to go for walks, and LOVES being outside - He loves his baths now, he just gets mad when we take him out! - He can say ba-ba, and i swear i've heard him say ma-ma :) - His favorite foods (besides milk) are pears, apples, and butternut sq...
